Terms and Conditions


Tutelage Tuition (“Tutelage Tuition”) provides referral services to parents or students (hence referred to as “Student”) requesting for a tutor (referred to hereafter as the “Services“) through its Tutelage Tuition website, presently located at http://www.tutelagetuition.com (“Site”). Through your use and access of this Site, you agree to be bound by and comply with these Terms of Service (“Terms”). In addition, when using any particular Service, you agree to abide by any applicable posted guidelines for the Services. Should you object to any of these Terms, any guidelines, or any subsequent modifications there to or become dissatisfied with any of the Services or the Site in any way, your only recourse is to immediately discontinue use of the Site and the Services. Your use and/or continued use of this Site, or access and use of the Services, constitute your agreement to be bound by and comply with the Terms.
Description of Services
Tutelage Tuition provides a matching service for Students and entities who need a tutor, including but not limited to students, tuition centers, schools etc. Each request for a tutor will be referred to as an “Assignment”. When you register as a tutor, you open an Account. The coordinators accessing the information in your Account (“Registration Data”) will contact registered tutors through the contact information that tutors have provided in the Account when there are suitable assignments for the individual tutors. Tutors hereby understand that being contacted by the coordinators for a particular assignment does not guarantee the Assignment allocation to the contacted tutor.
Tutors who sign up with may also source for Assignments through the assignment forum at http://forum.tutelagetuition, which coordinators update some of the available Assignments from time to time.

You also understand and agree that your information may be shared for the purpose of Assignment matching among coordinators from but not limited to Tutelage Tuition. You also understand and agree that you will be contacted for Assignments through a variety of communications medium such as personal phone calls, email announcements of available assignments etc. These communications are part of the Tutelage Tuition Tutors membership and you will not be able to opt out of receiving them unless you remove your account from the Database. To remove your account from the Database, you have to send a email titled “Remove me from your Database” and stating your Name and your NRIC in your email. Your Account would be removed within 7 working days.
As each Assignment criteria differ from case to case, you also understand and agree that registering as a tutor in Tutelage Tuition does not guarantee assignment allocations nor does it guarantee you being contacted by the coordinators.


Variation of Terms
We have the right to change, modify, add or delete any of the Terms, in whole or in part, at any time as we, in its absolute discretion, deem fit. Such modifications to the Terms shall be posted on the Site at least 30 days prior to their implementation. Your continued use of the Site after the effective date of any modifications will constitute your acceptance of all of the modifications. For Tutors Giving Tuition

  1. Registration

Registering as a tutor with Tutelage Tuition is free. However, Tutelage Tuition reserves all rights to refuse your application. To register, you must be:

  • A Singaporean, Permanent Resident, hold a relevant working permit.
  • At least 18 years old or that you are of the minimum legal age to enter into binding contract. In the event that you are not of the minimum legal age and you have registered yourself as a tutor, you would have deem to provide all relevant indemnity to Tutelage Tuition.
  • After filling up the tutor registration form, tutors are required to scan and email us copies of their certificates for verification. Upon verification, priority to assignments will definitely be given.

You are to fill in all personal information as accurately as possible and will not attempt to mislead Students using Tutelage Tuition services. Understand that all information, data, text, photographs, graphics, messages or other materials (“Content”), whether publicly posted or privately transmitted, are the sole responsibility of the person from which such Content originated. Failure to comply will lead to the termination of your tutor account.

  1. First Lesson and Assignment

You are expected to contact the Student before the first lesson for re-confirmation of the tuition information two (2) days before hand.
After you have agreed to take up an Assignment and a commencement date has been arranged between the Student and you, you understand and agree that in the event that you wish to withdraw from the Assignment before the first lesson, you must give Tutelage Tuition a minimum of two days’ notice, failing which you will be liable to pay a penalty charge of S$200.00 to Tutelage Tuition.
However upon confirmation of the tuition assignment and in the event that the tutor did not turn up for the first lesson or give last minute changes which resulted in the parents cancelling of the tuition, the tutor will have to bear the first month commission charge to be paid to Tutelage Tuition.

You need to bring your original certificates on the first lesson.

  1. Cancellation of Assignment

After you are allocated to an Assignment, you understand and agree that the first lesson of the Assignment is a trial lesson for the student and that if for whatever reason you are rejected as a tutor after the first lesson, no remuneration will be offered by both the Student and Tutelage Tuition. Remuneration is offered by the Student only with the commencement of the second lesson.

There are no contracts between the Student and the tutor for an Assignment unless otherwise arranged. You hereby understand and agree that if you break any contractual agreement, you will be liable for all claims and damages indemnified by the contractual parties involved.

Although there are no contracts between the Student and tutor by default, by courtesy, you hereby agree that you will give a minimum of one month’s notice to the Student if you wish to withdraw from the Assignment, failing which your outstanding remuneration will be forfeited.

In the event that the Commission has being paid to Tutelage Tuition and the Student choose to terminate your services, Tutelage Tuition would share half of the commission with the Tutor. However, if the Student select to terminate during the 3rd week, Tutelage Tuition would not share any of the Commission and the tutor would have to arrange to collect for the remuneration with the Student.

  1. Remuneration

As a tuition agency, Tutelage Tuition quote the market rate according to the Assignment criteria. Tutors may choose to accept or negotiate the price when they are contacted for the Assignment. Tutors are paid by the Students at the end of every tuition cycle, which is the total number of lessons for 4, 8 or 12 weeks, or otherwise arranged between the Student and the tutor. The final agreed rates between the Student and the tutor before the first lesson commences are not subjected to further negotiations for a minimum of 3 months unless initiated by Tutelage Tuition.
Tutelage Tuition is not liable to pay any remuneration to the tutor regardless of the event and scenario. You also understand and agree that it is your duty and not Tutelage Tuition’ to request for outstanding payment from the Students to be collected.

  1. Commission

Tutelage Tuition will collect 50% from the first month as commission upon the completion of 4, 8 or 12 lessons (depending on the frequency of the tuition assignment).
The 50% would be collected from the Student upon completion of 2, 4 or 6 lessons based on the 4, 8 or 12 lessons over 4-weeks or from the tutor if the Student have paid in full. The remaining 50% would be paid to the Tutor directly at the last lesson by the Student.
Any attempt to skip payment of the commission; failure to pay for the commission or unreasonable demands will result in the termination of your tutor account and you will be barred from future registration.

  1. Discipline

Punctuality: Tutor is expected not to be late and not leaving before the lesson is completed.
Responsibility: Changes to the lesson must be made known to the Student. Tutors who stopped tuition have to inform the Student through the phone or in person.
Professional: Tutors have to concentrate on the lesson at hand and be professional in their teachings.

  1. Release of your Registeration Data to Tuition Coordinator

Please take note that in registering at Tutelage Tuition, you have agreed to release all your Registeration Data to the Tuition Coordinator of Tutelage Tuition. A Tuition Coordinator is an authorized person for the providing of the Services.

  1. Indemnity

You agree to indemnify and hold Tutelage Tuition, and its subsidiaries, affiliates, officers, agents, or other partners, and employees, harmless from any claim or demand, including but not limited to reasonable attorneys’ fees, made by any third party due to or arising out of your misconduct, inaccurate information from your Registration Data, violation of the Terms and Conditions, violation of any rights of another or other relevant event.

  1. Termination

You agree that Tutelage Tuition may, under certain circumstances and without prior notice, immediately terminate your Account. Cause for such termination shall include, but not be limited to, (a) breaches or violations of the Terms and conditions or other incorporated agreements or guidelines, (b) requests by law enforcement or other government agencies, (c) a request by you (self account deletions), (d) discontinuance or material modification to the service (or any part thereof), (e) unexpected technical or security issues or problems, (f) extended periods of inactivity, (g) you have engaged in fraudulent or illegal activities, and/or (h) nonpayment of any fees owed by you in connection with the Assignments or other issues. Termination of your Tutelage Tuition account includes (a) removal of access to all offerings within the service, including but not limited to email notifications of available assignments (b) deletion of your password and all related information, files and content associated with or inside your account (or any part thereof), and (c) barring further use of the Tutelage Tuition service. Further, you agree that all terminations for cause shall be made in Tutelage Tuition’ sole discretion and that Tutelage Tuition shall not be liable to you or any third-party for any termination of your account

For Students Requesting Tutor
Tutelage Tuition attempts to be as accurate as possible. However, Tutelage Tuition does not guarantee that the description of the tutor is accurate, complete, reliable, current, or error-free.

  1. Tuition

The Rates stated on www.tutelagetuition.com are obtained based on recent assignments by tutors and therefore should only serve as a guide. Tutors charge different rates depending on their qualifications and experience.

  1. First Lesson

You are encouraged to call the tutor and have an informal telephone interview to assess the suitability of the tutor for your needs. You are required to check the credentials and certificates of the tutor on the first lesson if the scanned copy is not available on our site. It is the Student’s responsibility to ensure that the tutor’s credentials and qualifications are satisfactory.

  1. Termination of Service

There is no obligation or contract to complete a fixed number of lessons. You need to pay the Tutelage Tuition and the tutor for the number of lesson given prior to termination. You need not pay for the first lesson if the tutor’s credentials and qualifications are not as expected.

  1. Sharing of information with other tuition agency for the Services

Please take note that we may share with selected tuition agencies on your requirement for tuition in order to provide the Services.

  1. Payment

Tutelage Tuition levies a commission from the tutor which is 50% of the fees for the first month. The commission would be due after the second week of lessons. Payment have to be made two (2) weeks from the due date.
You can pay the tuition commission by: (1) Funds transfer via Internet Banking or ATM or (2) Cheque. Details of the payment will be made available in the confirmation email.
Information Disclosure
You acknowledge and agree that we may, in its sole discretion, preserve or disclose your Content, as well as your information, such as email addresses, IP addresses, timestamps, and other user information, for planning, research, design and marketing of services, or if required to do so by law or in the good faith belief that such preservation or disclosure is reasonably necessary to:

  • comply with legal requirements and process;
  • enforce these Terms;
  • respond to claims that any Content violates the rights of third-parties;
  • respond to claims that contact information (e.g. phone number, street address) of a third-party has been posted or transmitted without their consent or as a form of harassment;
  • protect the rights, property, or personal safety of Tenchi, its users or the general public.

Any information disclosed in public areas of the Site (such as those in classified ads and forums) becomes public information. You should exercise caution when disclosing your personal information in the public areas of the Site.
No Spam Policy
You understand and agree that sending unsolicited email advertisements to our email addresses or through our computer systems, is expressly prohibited under these Terms. Any unauthorized use of our computer systems is a violation of the Computer Misuse Act (Cap.50A) and may subject the sender and his or her agents to civil and criminal penalties.
Termination of Services
You agree that we, in its sole and absolute discretion, have the right to delete or deactivate your account, block your email or IP address, or otherwise terminate your access to or use of the Services (or any part thereof), immediately and without notice, and remove and discard any Content within the Services, for any reason, including, without limitation, if we believe that you have breached any of the Terms. Further, you agree that we shall not be liable to you or any third-party for any termination of your access to the Services. Further, you agree not to attempt to use the Services after said termination.
Our Rights
If notified of any allegedly infringing, defamatory, damaging, illegal, or offensive content on the Site, we may remove such content in its sole and absolute discretion.
We reserve the right to prohibit any conduct or communications which we, in its sole and absolute discretion, deem to be inappropriate or harmful, although we have no obligation to do so.
We may, without notice, terminate or suspend a user’s access to all or any portion of the Site or the Services, if we believe in its sole discretion that such user’s conduct is inappropriate, violates any applicable law, or harms or is potentially harmful to any other user or third party.
Intellectual Property and Proprietary Rights
The Services are protected to the maximum extent permitted by intellectual property laws and international treaties. Content displayed on or through the Service is protected by copyright as a collective work and/or compilation, pursuant to copyrights laws, and international conventions. Any reproduction, modification, creation of derivative works from or redistribution of the site or the collective work, and/or copying or reproducing the sites or any portion thereof to any other server or location for further reproduction or redistribution is prohibited without our express written consent.
Everything on the Site is copyrighted, unless otherwise noted, and may not be used except with our express written consent.
If you find any data or information on the Site that infringe intellectual property rights or otherwise is unlawful, please inform us at tuition_centre@yahoo.com.sg, and we will remove it from the Site immediately.
Disclaimer of Warranties
You expressly understand and agree that:

  • You assume total responsibility and risk for your use of the Services. The information, software, products, and services included on this Site may include inaccuracies or typographical errors. We do not make any express or implied warranties, representations or endorsements whatsoever (including without limitation, warranties of title or non-infringement, or the implied warranties of merchantability or fitness for a particular purpose, or representations about the suitability, reliability, timeliness and accuracy of the Services, information, software, products, services and related graphics contained on this Site for any purpose) with regard to the Site, any merchandise, information or service provided through the Site, the Services or on the Internet generally. All such information, software, products, services and related graphics are provided “as is” without warranty of any kind.
  • We make no warranty that (i) the Services will meet your requirements or will always be accessible, (ii) the Services will be uninterrupted, timely, secure, error-free or free from computer virus or other invasive or damaging code, (iii) the results that may be obtained from the use of the Services will be accurate or reliable, (iv) the quality of any products, services, information, or other material purchased or obtained by you through the Services will meet your expectations, and (v) any errors in the Services will be corrected.
  • Any Content downloaded, uploaded or otherwise obtained through the use of the Site is done at your own discretion and risk. It is your sole responsibility to evaluate the accuracy, completeness and usefulness of all opinions, advice, services, merchandise and other information provided through the Site, the Services or on the Internet generally.

Limitation of Liability
General Information
The Terms constitute the entire agreement between you and us and governs your use of the Services. The Terms supersede any prior agreement between you and us. You also may be subject to additional terms and conditions that may apply when you use affiliate or other Tutelage Tuition services, third-party content or third-party software. The Terms and the relationship between you and us shall be governed by the laws of the Republic of Singapore without regard to its conflict of law provisions. You and we agree to submit to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Singapore. Our failure to exercise or enforce any right or provision of the Terms shall not constitute a waiver of such right or provision. If any provision of the Terms is deemed unlawful or unenforceable, such provision shall be severed from these Terms without prejudice to all other provisions which shall remain in full force and effect. To the fullest extent possible, we and you shall revise such invalidated provision or part thereof in a manner that will render such provision valid without impairing the parties’ original intention. You agree that regardless of any statute or law to the contrary, any claim or cause of action arising out of or related to use of the Service or the Terms of Service must be filed within one (1) year after such claim or cause of action arose or be forever barred.
